Percent compliance with establishing a Comprehensive Emergency Preparedness & Response Plan; this measure includes an annual staff review and includes provisions for issues such as, but not limited to:  personal & family preparedness, call-back procedures, appropriate use of CERT, Fire Operations Center mobilization, in-station actions, response actions, duty statements, coordination with DEM & ESCA, and filling appropriate IMS positions.  The plan should incorporate the provisions of NFPA 1600 Disaster/Emergency Management. 75 75      
Percent compliance with establishing a cache of EMS Throw Kits at each District fire station for use in the event of a disaster emergency. 100 100      
Percent compliance with establishing and maintaining a stockpile of first aid supplies at each District fire station for use in the event of a disaster emergency – designed to enable treatment of walk-in patients. 100 100      
Percent compliance with establishing a cache of potable water at each District fire station, as well as maintaining a mobile potable water trailer for deployment in the event of a disaster emergency. 100 100      
Percent compliance with establishing a three-day cache of Meals Ready-to-Eat (MRE) at each District fire station for personnel use in the event of a disaster emergency where normal food supply availability may be interrupted. 100 100      
Percent compliance with obtaining and maintaining a mobile fuel supply truck for deployment in the event of a disaster emergency where normal fuel supply distribution may be interrupted. 100 100

What does this measure tell us?

         

This measure describes the major components of the District’s Disaster Preparedness Program and tells us if we are prepared to sustain our personnel, apparatus, and facilities for the initial three to four days following a natural or human-caused disaster.
