What does this measure tell us?

NFPA statistics continue to show that almost 50 percent of fire fighter fatalities are heart attacks, and almost 50 percent of those who died had heart-related problems.  An effective Member Assistance & Wellness Program to include a formal health-related fitness plan can significantly contribute to reducing fire fighter fatalities and injuries.  The multiple stress factors and rigors of our profession require fire fighters to be mentally and physically fit in order to effectively perform the required tasks.

Goal being measured:

Develop and Maintain an Effective Training & Safety Program.
