What does this measure tell us?

Early defibrillation and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation efforts are the first line of defense against sudden cardiac arrest and a significant link in the chain-of-survival process.  The general public has become aware of the importance of being able to quickly provide such resuscitative efforts in advance of the arrival of emergency medical personnel.  In an effort to improve the survival rates of our citizens, the District is committed to providing these levels of medical education to our residents, business leaders, and students in our school communities.

Goal being measured:

Develop a Fire & Injury Prevention, Public Affairs Program.

Public medical education to include adult, infant and child CPR; automatic external defibrillation (AED); and basic first aid is a valuable component of the District’s goal of increasing the survival rate and quality of life of its citizens through its commitment to develop a Fire & Injury Prevention, Public Affairs Program.
